Marijuana Arrests: On July 4, 2017 at 7:23 p.m., Ptl. Christopher McIvor observed a vehicle traveling on Route 23 South, make an unsafe lane change. Ptl. McIvor stopped the car and made contact with the occupants. During their conversation, the officer smelled what he recognized to be the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle. After a brief investigation at the scene, a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located. Joshua Lopez, 18 years old from Clifton, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Lopez was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. Louis J. Bravo, 20 years old from Clifton, was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were released on their own recognizance and have pending court appearances.
DWI Arrest: On July 4, 2017 at 10:59 p.m., Ptl. William Juliano observed a vehicle being operated erratically on Route 23 North . Ptl. Juliano stopped the car and made contact with the driver. During their conversation, the officer administered several pre-exit field sobriety tests to the driver. After additional testing, Robert W. Geyer, 57 years old from Haskell, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Geyer was charged with careless driving and driving while intoxicated. He was released to a third party and has a pending municipal court appearance.
