DWI Arrest: On February 13, 2018 at 11:43 p.m., police dispatch received a call from a motorist reporting an erratic driver. Ptl. Jeffrey Jones located the vehicle in question at the West Franklin & Boulevard intersection. The officer then observed the vehicle make a wide turn and swerve. Ptl. Jones stopped the vehicle as it pulled into a driveway. As officers spoke to the driver, they observed indications that she was under the influence of alcohol. Fresh damage was also observed on the front of the car. After refusing to comply with instructions of the officers and attempting to walk into her home, Lori A. Dara, 53 years old from Pompton Plains, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. A message to local police departments inquiring if they had a report of any recent accidents in which a vehicle left the scene, resulted in Totowa Police advising of a traffic pole that was struck with pieces of a vehicle left at the scene. After submitting to breath testing, Ms. Dara was charged with failure to keep right, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated. She was released to a third party and has a pending appearance in court.
CDS Arrest: On February 13, 2018 at 12:12 a.m., Ptl. Kevin Boone observed a vehicle traveling on Route 23 South with tinted windows. Ptl. Boone stopped the car and made contact with the driver. During their conversation, the driver admitted to being in possession of Suboxone. After a search of the vehicle, the Suboxone was located. Marc J. Frasca, 32 years old from Wayne, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Frasca was charged with possession of CDS, failure to keep right, tinted windows and failure to exhibit a driver’s license. He was released on his own recognizance and has a pending court appearance.
