DWI & Possession of CDS Arrest: On February 7, 2019 at 1:13 p.m., Ptl. Vincent LaManno responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Route 23 North. Upon his arrival, Ptl. LaManno made contact with the operator of a gray 2005 BMW, later identified as Ugur Eroglu, 38 years old of Clifton, N.J. During his conversation with Mr. Eroglu, Ptl. LaManno observed several signs of impairment. Due to these observations, Ptl. LaManno conducted field sobriety tests on Mr. Eroglu. At the conclusion of the tests Mr. Eroglu was placed under arrest. During the investigation, Ptl. Lack Lyon observed a cigarette that appeared to be suspicious on the passenger side floor. Upon further investigation it was determined that the cigarette was dipped in suspected liquid PCP. Mr. Eroglu was transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing and was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unsafe vehicle, obstructed windshield, improper or unapproved tires, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Morris County Superior Court.
