DWI Arrest: On June 9 2019 at 12:47 a.m., Patrolman Kevin Boone responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 23 North at the entrance of the Baymont Hotel.  Upon his arrival Ptl. Boone checked on the occupants and tended to injuries.  During his investigation, Ptl. Boone made contact with the operator of a 2007 Pontiac G5, later identified as Gil Enriquez-Lucero, 35 years old of Highland Lakes, N.J.  During his conversation with Mr. Enriquez-Lucero, Ptl. Boone observed several signs that indicated that he may have consumed alcoholic beverages.  Mr. Enriquez-Lucero was asked to perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest upon the conclusion of the tests.  He was transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain a Lane, and Failure to Exhibit a Valid Registration.  Mr. Enriquez-Lucero was released to a third party with a scheduled appearance at the Pequannock Township Municipal Court.

DWI Arrest: On June 9, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., Patrolman William Juliano responded to Route 23 North on the report of an erratic drive who struck the center median.  Once he was in the area of River Dr. and Route 23 North, Ptl. Juliano located the suspect vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop.  After activating his lights and sirens, Ptl. Juliano began to follow the suspect vehicle from Route 23 onto Route 287 South.  The suspect vehicle continued several miles on Route 287 South where it finally came to a stop near the Route 202 exit in Montville.  With assistance from a Riverdale Officer, Ptl. Juliano removed the driver from the car.  She was later identified as Fara Lazerus, 38 years old of Staten Island, N.Y.  Ptl. Juliano attempted to place Ms. Lazerus under arrest but she resisted being put into handcuffs.  After gaining control, officers were able to handcuff Ms. Lazerus and attempted to place her into Ptl. Juliano’s police car.  At that time she bit Ptl. Juliano’s arm.  Upon further investigation, Ptl. Juliano made several observations that led him to believe Ms. Lazerus was under the influence of alcohol.  She was subsequently transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters where she was processed and charged with Eluding, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated with a Minor in the Vehicle, Failure  to Maintain a Lane, and Reckless Driving.  She was released to a third party and has a scheduled court appearance at the Morris County Superior Court.
