DWI Arrest:  On June 22, 2017 at 5:57 p.m., Ptl. Leonard Anzano observed a vehicle being operated erratically on West Parkway near the Route 23 area.  Ptl. Anzano stopped the car and made contact with the driver.  During their conversation, the officer detected what he recognized to be the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver.  After a brief investigation, Kim M. Sushko, 55 years old from Hewitt, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed.  Ms. Sushko was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of an open container in a motor vehicle, delaying traffic and careless driving.  She was released to a third party and has a pending court appearance.

Accident Resulting in DWI Arrest:  On June 25, 2017 at 12:55 a.m., Ptl. Kevin Boone was dispatched to respond to investigate a report of a motor vehicle that struck a utility pole on Madison Street.  Ptl. Boone arrived and spoke with the driver of the car.  During their conversation, the officers observed several behaviors and signs consistent with alcohol impairment.  The driver also stated that he had looked down at his phone while driving and then struck the utility pole.  Based on the investigation, Tyler F. Hogan, 25 years old from Lincoln Park, was arrested and transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson for treatment of a head injury.  Mr. Hogan was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to utilize a hands free device and failure to wear a seatbelt.  He was left in the care of the hospital and has a pending appearance in court.
