Posession of Syringe and Shoplifting Arrest: On October 28, 2017 at 3:58 p.m., Ptl. Cesar Hurtado was dispatched to respond to the Stop & Shop Supermarket on Route 23 North to investigate a report of shoplifting. Upon his arrival, Ptl. Hurtado met with a loss prevention officer for the store who advised that he was detaining an individual that had attempted to shoplift items from the store. During a search of this individual, officers located a hypodermic syringe on his person. David M. Harrison, 41 years old from Pompton Plains, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Harrison was charged with shoplifting and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was released on his own recognizance and has a pending court appearance.
