Assault Arrest:  On December 29, 2017 at 11:28 p.m.,  Ptl. Vincent LaManno and other officers responded to Bardi’s Restaurant on the Newark Pompton Turnpike to investigate a report of a fight in progress.  Once officers arrived, it was learned that a customer had been asked to leave the establishment and an altercation ensued.  After a brief investigation, Sean T. Capitelli, 22 years old from West Milford, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed.  Mr. Capitelli was charged with simple assault and released on his own recognizance.  He has a pending court appearance.

Motor Vehicle Accident with DWI:  On December 31, 2017 at 4:55 p.m., Ptl. Leonard Anzano responded to investigate a report of a motor vehicle accident on Route 23 North.  Upon his arrival, Ptl. Anzano observed one vehicle had struck the other vehicle from the rear.  In speaking with the driver that struck the vehicle ahead of him, the officer observed several behaviors consistent with impairment.  After a brief investigation, the driver was transported to Chilton Medical Center for a head injury.  Eugene J. Hutsebaut, 48 years old from Butler, was arrested and charged with reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.  He has a pending appearance in court.
