DWI Arrest: On March 3, 2018 at 3:07 a.m., Ptl. Christopher McIvor, observed a vehicle speeding and being operated erratically on Route 23 North. Ptl. McIvor stopped the car and made contact with the driver. During their conversation, the officer detected the odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle and observed several indications that the driver was impaired. After performing multiplel field sobriety tests, Patrick E. Beggan, 50 years old from Ringwood, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Beggan was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, speeding, failure to maintain a lane, improper turning, fictitious license plates, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, failure to notify DMV of an address change, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released to a third party and has a pending court appearance.
