CDS/Warrant Arrest: On August 4, 2018 at 10:15 p.m., Ptl. Jack Lyon was patrolling Route 23 South. At that time, he made a check of a license plate of a vehicle in front of him and found the plate was expired and did not match the make and model of the vehicle it was on. A further check of the registered owner showed a license suspension and an active warrant out of Passaic County. Ptl. Lyon made a traffic stop on the vehicle and confirmed that the driver was the registered owner, Jack Montuori, 29 years old of Paterson N.J. During questioning, Mr. Montuori admitted that he placed improper license plates on his 1995 Dodge Caravan. He was subsequently placed under arrest for the warrant from Passaic County. During the search of his person, Mr. Montuori stated that he was in possession of several Ecstasy pills and they were recovered by Ptl. Lyon. Mr. Montuori further stated that there was marijuana in his car which was also recovered by Ptl. Lyon. Mr. Montuoti was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, driving while suspended, and misuse of plates. He was released with a scheduled court date at the Morris County Superior Court. Mr. Montuori was turned over to the Passaic County Sherriff’s department.
