Possession of CDS: On June 1, 2019 at 11:46 a.m., Ptl. Cesar Hurtado was monitoring traffic on Route 23 North. At that time, he observed a 2005 Dodge pickup truck pass his location and observed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Ptl. Hurtado conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and contacted the operator, later identified as Anthony Bruno, 43 years old of Totowa, N.J. During his conversation with Mr. Bruno, Ptl. Hurtado observed a prescription pill bottle which the lable was defaced. Upon checking the bottle he found it contained several pills of suspected Clonazepam which Mr. Bruno did not a have a prescription for. Mr. Bruno was removed from the pickup truck and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the Pequannock Police Department for processing and was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. Mr. Bruno was released with a scheduled appearance at the Morris County Superior Court.
