

A more recent addition to the department's fleet is the motorcycle unit. After nearly five years, the motorcycles have become an invaluable tool and allow for a great deal of versatility. The two motorcycles are 2007 Harley Davidson Police Electra Glides. Designed by the legendary manufacturer specifically for law enforcement use, these 6 speed bikes can be routinely seen throughout the township on selective enforcement details. The officers are each assigned a motorcycle and are responsible for its appearance and maintenance.
The motor officers can be seen providing police escort for parades, funeral processions and charity motorcycle rides.
The motorcycles have proven to be a very effective tool for traffic enforcement. Their small size and maneuverability allow for a diverse mixture of activities. Whether on the highways or the sidestreets the motor officers utilize the bikes year round.
