School Resource Officer (SRO)

Det. Jeffrey Jones
is a member of the Detective Bureau of the Police Department, he serves as our School Resource Officer and is the Juvenile Detective, responsible for all juvenile matters requiring police action.

Det. Jones' primary responsibility is acting as the Police Department's liaison to the Pequannock Township School District and its students.  The majority of his day is spent in the school district, speaking to administrators, faculty and students about a wide range of topics. Very often, through his presence and experience, problems and situations are handled informally, without any involvement of the juvenile justice system.

Det. Jones is the Police Department's primary L.E.A.D. officer and has had first hand contact with many of our young adults and emphasizes the serious consequences of illegal substance abuse.  He has received training in all levels of the L.E.A.D. curriculum.

He is the coordinator and lead instructor in the Police Department's Junior Police Academy.

Det. Jones may be contacted at (973) 835-1700 or email: jjones@peqtwp.org
