In an effort to boost our very low daytime volunteer membership, the squad will be offering a new ride-a-long program.  This does not commit the person to membership in the squad, but rather give those persons an up-front and personal look at what goes on at the station, as well as taking a ride in one of our vehicles to actual calls for a clear understanding of what the first aid squad does.  In 2003, the thirty members of the First Aid Squad responded to over 1,000 calls for assistance.  This number reflects not only medical emergencies but also responses to calls with the Fire Department and calls for assistance from our neighboring communities.  This program we hope will give the community the understanding of what satisfaction our volunteer Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians feel when we get to help one of our neighbors or even a close friend in need, as well as saving the taxpayers money for paid personnel.  Any residents of Pequannock Township ages 16 or over are welcome to contacts us at 973-835-5700 x.175.
