Advisory Board

A nine member Advisory Board appointed by the Township Council reorganizes annually to assist the Director in developing and evaluating parks and recreational programs and to act as a liaison between the community and the Department.

The Advisory Board meets the first Monday of each month at the Senior House at 7:00 pm. These meetings are open to the public. Anyone interested in becoming a Board member should submit a letter of interest to the Township Council in December.

The Parks and Recreation Department was established by ordinance over 35 years ago. The Department is organized into Parks, Recreation and Tree Service:

PARKS: Maintain approximately 400 acres of parkland which include: Playgrounds, lake, 7,000 street trees, trash pick-up, 6 tennis courts, 3 baseball fields, 7 softball fields, 12 soccer fields and 1 football field.

RECREATION: The Recreation Department provides a variety of programs ranging from school age craft programs through senior citizen trip excursions. Pequannock Township provides a large array of passive and active recreational and leisure activities to our residents.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Pequannock Township Recreation Department   is  continually seeking creative, dedicated individuals to help bring safe, enjoyable leisure opportunities to   Pequannock residents. If you have a special talent to offer or are interested in chaperoning, coaching or teaching a special class, we want you!
