M.V. Accident with Injuries:  On October 14, 2016 at 12:36 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a car that had driven into the storefront of Divine Cleaners at 615 Route 23 South.  Upon the arrival of the officers, a 2015 BMW 4 door sedan had driven through the outer wall of the establishment and travelled approximately 35 feet into the store.  It was learned that three of the store’s employees were injured with one trapped under the vehicle.  Basic and advanced life support units from Chilton Medical Center and both companies of the Pequannock Twp. Fire Department responded to the scene.  The 47 year old employee was extricated from beneath the vehicle and air lifted to Morristown Medical Center with injuries to her right arm and torso.  She was alert and conscious and in fair condition.  A 23 year old employee was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s hospital in Paterson with a minor neck injury.  A 22 year old employee was transported by ambulance to Morristown Medical Center with minor face and head injuries.  Both of those employees were in good condition.  The driver of the vehicle was a 70 year old male from New York City.  He was interviewed by officers from the Pequannock Twp. Traffic Bureau and admitted to mistaking the accelerator pedal for the brake pedal as he was attempting to park in front of the business.  He was not injured and released from the scene.  The accident remains under investigation and no charges are expected.
