DWI Arrest: On June 26, 2017 at 7:24 p.m., Det. Kevin Ricciardi observed a woman exiting the King’s Kid Deli on the Newark Pompton Turnpike and exhibiting several behaviors consistent with being under the influence of alcohol. Det. Ricciardi observed the woman enter the driver’s seat of a vehicle, start the car and place it into reverse. The officer then approached the vehicle and directed that she place it in park. During their conversation the officer confirmed his initial assessment of the woman being under the influence of alcohol. With the assistance of other officers, a brief investigation ensued and the woman was arrested at the scene. Beth A. Leidenfrost, 56 years old from Pequannock, was transported to headquarters for processing. Ms. Leidenfrost was charged with careless driving, driving while intoxicated and parking in a handicapped stall without authorization. She was released to a third party and has a pending court appearance.
DWI Arrest: On June 26, 2017 at 11:16 p.m., the Pequannock Police desk was notified that there was a vehicle being operated erratically with front end damage on Route 23 North. The vehicle exited the highway and proceeded south on the Newark Pompton Turnpike. Ptl. Jeffrey Jones identified the vehicle and observed it cross over the center line of the roadway. Ptl. Jones signaled the vehicle to stop and as the driver began to pull over, the car drove up onto the sidewalk and then back onto the road. The officer made contact with the operator of the vehicle who was complaining of severe back pain. During the course of the stop, the officer requested medical assistance for the driver and also detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The driver was transported to Chilton Medical Center where he was examined and released. He was then placed under arrest. Timur K. Bolca, 37 years old from Woodland Park, was transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Bolca was charged with careless driving, driving while intoxicated and failure to submit to breath testing. He was released to a third party and has a pending court appearance.
