Marijuana Arrest: On August 8, 2017 at 9:51 p.m., Ptl. Nicholas Schreck was monitoring traffic on Route 23 North when a random check of license plates revealed a vehicle whose owner had a suspended driver’s license. Ptl. Schreck stopped the vehicle and made contact with the occupants. During their conversation, the officer smelled what he recognized to be the odor raw marijuana emanating from the car. After a brief investigation, a bag containing a small amount of suspected marijuana, a grinder, rolling papers and a pipe was located. The passenger of the vehicle, Raymond L. Adams, 27 years old from Vernon, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Adams was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance and has a pending court appearance.
