DWI Arrest: On March 17, 2018 at 1:39 a.m. Ptl. Vincent LaManno responded to investigate a report of an erratic driver on Route 23 North. Upon his arrival, Ptl. LaManno learned that an officer from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department had witnessed a driver strike the center divider and had him stopped on the shoulder of the highway. Ptl. LaManno made contact with the driver and observed several indications that he was under the influence of alcohol. After performing several field sobriety tests, Ismael E. Sanchez-Rosario, 22 years old from Edison, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. Mr. Sanchez-Rosario, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and disregard of marked lanes. He was released to a third party and has a pending court appearance.
CDS Arrest: On March 18, 2018 at 4:06 p.m., Ptl. Jack Lyon performed a license plate check on a vehicle traveling on Route 23 North. The plate check revealed that the license plate was not on file. Ptl. Lyon then observed the vehicle make several abrupt lane changes. Ptl. Lyon stopped the car and made contact with the driver. During their conversation, it was learned that the driver’s license was suspended and that he was the subject of two arrest warrants. Shawn T. Martin, 33 years old from Effort, PA, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed. During a search of his person, a total of 200 glassine envelopes of suspected heroin were located. Mr. Martin was charged with possession of heroin and driving while suspended. He was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
