DWI Arrest: On April 1, 2018 at 12:33 a.m., Patrolman Christopher McIvor received a report of a possible drunk driver on Route 23 North. Ptl. McIvor observed the caller’s vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle traveling northbound near Circle 3 Farm. He proceeded to follow the suspect vehicle into Riverdale where he observed the vehicle being operated erratically. Ptl. McIvor made a traffic stop in the parking lot of Riverdale Square where he made contact with the driver, later identified as Alberto Rodriguez, 39 years of age, of Kinnelon N.J. At the conclusion of Ptl. McIvor’s investigation and after field sobriety tests, it was determined that Mr. Rodriguez was intoxicated and was subsequently placed under arrest. Mr. Rodriguez was transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters where he submitted to breath testing. He was processed and was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and failure to maintain a lane. Mr. Rodriguez was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.
