Multiple DWI Arrests: On June 22, 2018 at 12:55 a.m., Ptl. Christopher Nelson was traveling on Newark Pompton Turnpike.  At that time he observed a gray sedan traveling below the posted speed limit, weaving within its lane, and jumping a curb as the operator attempted to pull into a parking lot on Newark Pompton Turnpike.  Ptl. Nelson conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, later identified as Nancy Suckiel, 49 years old of West Milford N.J.  During his investigation, Ptl. Nelson detected obvious signs of alcohol consumption and conducted field sobriety tests on Ms. Suckiel.  At the conclusion of the tests she was placed under arrest and transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing and breath testing. Ms. Suckiel was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and failure to maintain a lane. She was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court. 

On June 24, 2018 at 3:29 a.m., Ptl. Christopher McIvor was on patrol of Route 23 South and behind a silver SUV.  While following the SUV, Ptl. McIvor observed that the operator of the vehicle in question was unable to maintain a lane and subsequently conducted a traffic stop.  He contacted the driver, later identified as Laura Bell, 54 years old of Fairfield N.J., and immediately observed multiple signs of alcohol consumption. After conducting field sobriety tests, Ms. Bell was placed under arrest and transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing and breath testing.  Ms. Bell was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane, and careless driving.  She was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.

On June 24, 2018 at 3:41 a.m., Ptl. William Juliano was on patrol of Route 23 North.  At that time he observed a vehicle in front of him traveling on Route 23 at a very slow rate of speed.  As he continued to watch the vehicle in question, he observed that the operator was unable to maintain a traffic lane.  Ptl. Juliano conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, later identified as Alfonso Najera-Flores, 34 years old of Haskell N.J.  Ptl. Juliano immediately observed signs of alcohol consumption and conducted field sobriety tests on Mr. Najera-Flores.  At the conclusion of the tests he was placed under arrest and transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing and breath testing.  Mr. Najera-Flores was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane, and unlicensed driver.  He was turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Service and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.
