DWI Arrest: On July 27, 2018 at 11:17 a.m., the Pequannock Police Department was notified by a concerned motorist of a possible intoxicated driver in the area of Sunset Road. Ptl. Christopher Nelson was in the area and located the suspected vehicle. He also observed several equipment violations on the car and conducted a traffic stop. Ptl. Nelson made contact with the driver, later identified as Sean Bierman, 29 years old of Wanaque N.J. After a brief conversation and investigation, Ptl. Nelson concluded that Mr. Bierman appeared to be under the influence and conducted field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests Mr. Bierman was placed under arrest and transported to the Riverdale Police Department for breath testing. Additionally, Mr. Bierman submitted to a drug recognition expert evaluation at the Pequannock Police Department. He was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, using unapproved equipment, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. He was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.
