DWI & Possession of CDS Arrest: On October 5, 2018 at 7:03 p.m., Ptl. Sean Higgins responded to West Parkway near Foothills Park for a motor vehicle accident. Upon his arrival he observed a 1995 silver Toyota had struck a utility pole and continued down an embankment. He made contact with the operator, later identified as Bobbie Mathews, 47 years old of Bloomingdale, N.J. who was uninjured. Ptl. Higgins observed that Ms. Mathews displayed multiple signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests Ms. Mathews was placed under arrest and transported back to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing. Once at headquarters Ms. Mathews was searched by a female matron who discovered that she was in possession of multiple folds of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Mathews was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. She was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Morris County Superior Court.
