Possession of CDS: On May 18, 2019 at 10:05 a.m., Ptl. Matthew Ackerman was monitoring traffic on Route 23 South near Jackson Ave. At that time, he observed a 2018 Honda Civic without a front license plate. Ptl. Ackerman conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and contacted the operator, later identified as Charlene Reiser, 34 years old of Hewitt, N.J. and her passenger. During his conversation with both occupants, Ptl. Ackerman made several observations that led him to believe that a controlled dangerous substance may be in the vehicle. The occupants were removed from the car and a search was conducted. During the search, officers located suspected Buprenorphine and Clonazepam pills that neither party had a prescription for. Ms. Reiser was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Pequannock Police Department for processing. She was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Unclear license Plates and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle. She was released with a scheduled appearance at the Morris County Superior Court.
