DWI Arrest:  On November 26, 2016 at 12:09 a.m., Ptl. Matthew Levine observed a vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane.  Ptl. Levine stopped the car and made contact with the operator.  During their conversation the driver exhibited several behaviors consistent with being under the influence of alcohol.  After performing several field sobriety tests, Richard John Keough, 56 years old from West Milford, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed.  Mr. Keough was charged with failing to maintain a lane, careless driving, driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit to breath tests.  He was released to a third party and has a pending court appearance.
 
Marijuana Arrest:  On November 26, 2016 at 10:07 a.m., Ptl. James Dericks observed a vehicle traveling on Route 23 with tinted windows.  Ptl. Dericks stopped the car and made contact with the driver.  During their conversation, the officer observed several cigar shavings and flakes of marijuana on the floor of the vehicle.  After a brief investigation, the driver turned over a plastic bag of suspected marijuana to the officer.  A plastic grinder was also located within the car.  Jose G. Alemany, 19 years old from Passaic, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed.  Mr. Alemany was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, having unapproved window tinting on his vehicle.  He was released on his own recognizance and has a pending court appearance. 
 
DWI Arrest:   On November 24, 2016 at 3:15 a.m., Ptl. Christopher McIvor observed a vehicle being operated erratically as it turned onto Route 23 North from Jackson Avenue.  Ptl. McIvor stopped the car and made contact with the driver.  During their conversation, the operator exhibited several behaviors consistent with being under the influence of alcohol.  After performing several field sobriety tests, Sean M. Afflitto, 23 years old from Pompton Plains, was arrested, transported to headquarters and processed.  Mr. Afflitto was charged with having an excessively loud muffler, careless driving and driving while intoxicated.  He was released to a third party and has a pending appearance in municipal court.
