DWI Arrest: On June 22, 2019 at 1:58 a.m., Ptl. Sean Higgins was monitoring traffic on Route 23 North. At that time he observed a silver Subaru Impreza commit a violation. Ptl. Higgins conducted a motor vehicle stop on the suspect vehicle and made contact with the driver, later identified as Bart Natoli, 32 years old of Riverdale, N.J. During his interview of Mr. Natoli, Ptl. Higgins made several observations indicating that Mr. Natoli consumed alcoholic beverages. Mr. Natoli was removed from his car and was asked to perform field sobriety tests. At the conclusion of the tests he was placed under arrested and transported to Pequannock Police Headquarters for processing. Mr. Natoli was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, and Speeding. He was released to a third party and has a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.
CDS Arrests & Warrant Arrest: On June 22, 2019 at 6:04 p.m., Sgt. Jack Lyon was monitoring traffic on Route 23 North. At that time he observed a 2005 Mercury with an equipment violation. Sgt. Lyon pulled from his location and followed the suspect vehicle to Jackson Ave. where he observed an additional moving violation. At this time Sgt. Lyon conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Dunkin’ Donuts on Route 23 North. Sgt. Lyon contacted the driver and his passenger, later identified as Ali Zeigler, 28 years old of North Plainfield, N.J. and Steven Snook, 25 years old of Washington, N.J. During his conversation with the occupants, Sgt. Lyon observed signs of possible drug activity. A records check of both men revealed that they had active warrants for their arrests. During the search of Mr. Snook, Sgt. Lyon located a pipe that was suspected to be used to ingest Crack-Cocaine. A search of the car revealed one glassine fold of suspected heroin. Both men were transported to the Pequannock Police Department where Mr. Zeigler was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Driving While Suspended, Failure to Maintain Lamps, and Driving While Suspended for a Prior DWI. He was released with a scheduled appearance at the Morris County Superior Court. Mr. Snook was charged with Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was with a scheduled appearance at the Pequannock Township Municipal Court.
CDS Arrests & Warrant Arrest: On June 23, 2019 at 2:31 p.m., Ptl. Jason Chestnutt was monitoring traffic on Route 23 South. At that time, he performed a registration checked on a 1999 Lincoln Navigator. The check revealed that the registered owner’s license was suspended. After confirming that the operator was the registered owner, Ptl. Chestnutt conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle and made contact with the operator, identified as Marianne Murphy, 55 years old of West Milford, N.J. During his conversation with Ms. Murphy and her passengers, later identified as Michelle Spears, 33 years old of Paterson, N.J. and Robin Velardo, 55 years old of Paterson, N.J., he observed several signs of Ms. Spears being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and informed by Ptl. Chestnutt of his suspicion. Ms. Spears turned over several hypodermic needles and a pipe suspected of being used to ingest Crack-Cocaine. It was also found that she had two active warrants from the Paterson Municipal Court. A K-9 officer from the Morris County Sherriff’s Office was called and responded to the scene. After a K-9 search, officers located a second pipe commonly used to ingest Crack-Cocaine and bag containing a cut straw along with a small amount of suspected Cocaine. All three females were placed under arrest and transported to the Pequannock Police Department for processing. Marianne Murphy was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While Suspended. Michelle Spears was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Hindering Her Own Apprehension. Robin Velardo was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and was released with a scheduled appearance at the Morris County Superior Court. Both Ms. Murphy and Ms. Spears were released with a scheduled court date at the Pequannock Municipal Court.
