Police Department

The Police Department currently has 32 sworn police officers, 4 full-time certified police dispatchers, and a full-time records clerk/administrative assistant. The department is divided into 4 main divisions: Patrol, Detective Bureau, Community Services Bureau which also encompasses the Traffic Bureau, and an Administrative Bureau.

The Township is proud of the professional staff, which is constantly updating training and community programs to meet the ever-changing needs of today's law enforcement community.

The Pequannock Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of its program to achieve accreditation by verifying that it meets recognized professional best practices.

Administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with best practice standards in five basic areas: the administrative function, the personnel function, the operations function, the investigative function, and the arrestee/detainee function.

Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 973-835-1700 x115 on Monday, November 8, 2021 between the hours of 09:00 am and 10:00 am. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team.   Email comments can be sent to the Pequannock Police Department to Lt. Robert Brown at rbrown@peqtwp.org.
