Richard Phelan was first elected to the Township Council in 2010 and is now completing his second term. Rich was selected to serve as Township Mayor in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and is currently the Council’s representative to the Planning Board, a commissioner on the Two Bridges Sewer Authority and the Council Liaison to the Fire Department and the Shade Tree Commission.
Rich has lived in Pequannock since 2007. He is presently an employee of the Wayne-based Haydon Corporation, a $70 million company, working as part of that company’s senior management team. He is originally from Franklin Township, New Jersey, where he served in the past as a member of the town’s Volunteer Fire Company and First Aid Squad.
Richard Phelan is a graduate of Kean University, Union, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Summa Cum Laude. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, National Honor Society; Lambda Alpha Sigma, the National Liberal Arts Honor Society; and Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society.
He completed his graduate studies at the NJIT School of Management, Newark, New Jersey, with a Master of Science in Management, with a concentration in Finance. He is honored to be a member of Alpha Epsilon Lambda, Honor Society of Graduate Students.
Rich is a strong supporter of the Pequannock Township Police Department, Fire Department, First Aid Squad and DPW and a passionate advocate for the residents and taxpayers of Pequannock Township.
