Curbside Recycling Collection Will Change - November 1, 2020

Beginning 11/1/2020 the Township's recycling collection will change from single stream, once a week collection, to dual stream, twice a week collection. Tuesdays will be bottles, cans, plastics 1, 2 & 5 and Fridays will be newspaper & cardboard.

For the last five years you have been putting all your recyclables out for collection on Monday.  Beginning November 1, 2020 you will now place bottles/cans out for collection on Tuesdays and paper/cardboard out on Fridays.  Please place all material out for collection in a rigid container and breakdown cardboard boxes.  Please do not put any materials in plastic bags!

Costs associated with recycling programs throughout the state, and even nationally, have skyrocketed.  The decision to change from single stream recycling collection to dual stream was made to mitigate the increase in costs.

As of November 1, 2020:

  • Tuesdays: Commingled Bottles, Cans, Jars, Steel & Tin Cans, Plastics #1, #2, & #5 (no lids, please!)
  • Fridays: Newspaper, Cardboard, Mixed Paper

A letter will be sent to all solid waste utility costumers with this information and a graphic flier to illustrate what materials must be recycled and when they will be collected.

For more information, please visit the Township's Solid Waste and Recycling Webpage.
